MSW Contracting recently completed a commercial foam roofing restoration project on the roof of a AAA building in Phoenix, Arizona.
The existing foam roof required repairs and restoration to address low areas where water was collecting and to renew the protective roofing surface. The project was designed to correct problem areas while extending the serviceability of the existing foam roofing system.
Commercial Foam Roof Repairs and Restoration
The project began with a thorough cleaning of the entire roof to remove dirt, debris, and contaminants from the surface. Proper preparation helps ensure repairs and coatings are applied to a clean and stable substrate.
Once the roof was prepared, new layers of polyurethane roofing foam were installed in the larger low areas of the roof to help improve drainage and reduce ponding water. Areas containing cracks, splits, and joints were then repaired using ArmorPutty and reinforcement membrane to strengthen vulnerable sections of the roofing system.
To complete the restoration, two coats of ArmorCoat AC100 premium white elastomeric roof coating were applied across the roof surface. This protective coating helps shield the foam roofing system from Arizona’s harsh sun and weather exposure while providing a renewed protective surface for the commercial roof.
Project Outcome
Through roof cleaning, foam repairs, reinforcement work, and a new protective coating system, the AAA building roof was restored and returned to service. This project demonstrates how commercial foam roofing systems can often be restored when specific problem areas are identified and addressed before more extensive deterioration occurs.
